Maciej Edelman

Maciej studied Cinematography at the Film School in Łódź. He has worked as a cinematographer on multiple short feature films and documentaries, music videos and commercials, shooting in Poland, Africa, Serbia, England, Belgium and Germany. Many of this projects were awarded at Polish and international film festivals.

The documentary „Connected” directed by Aleksandra Maciejczyk was selected to IDFA film festival. The movie was awarded a Silver Dragon at Krakow Film Festival. "Carrière de Pissy”, a documentary by Eliott Chabanis with Maciej's cinematography, had its premiere at Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival.

Last year Maciej worked on cinematography of the feature film "Hunting" / "Polowanie", directed by Paweł Chmielewski, political thriller starring Michał Czernecki and Artur Barciś. The plot of the film is based on true events in which the local mafia planned to eliminate an independent politician who wanted to bring fair governance to the city. "Hunting" / “Polowanie” received the PFFA President's Award for Fiction Film at the Polish Film Festival of America.

Short film "An Orange from Jaffa" directed by Mohammed Almughanni, with Maciej's cinematography received Grand Prix in International Competition of Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival and is in The National Competition of Krakow Film Festival 2024. Short feature film "The Power of Resistance" directed by Elżbieta Benkowska with Maciej's cinematography was nominated in The National Competition of Krakow Film Festival 2024 also.

Maciej takes great satisfaction from forming long collaborations with directors. He looks for challenging projects in different areas of filmmaking.
