Grzegorz Mołda

Born in Włoszczowa. He dropped out of anthropology studies to start studying directing at the Gdynia Film School. In the meantime, he fulfilled his dream and worked as a journalist - a sports commentator on television.

In his work, regardless of the form and genre, he always focuses on arousing emotions, which in audiovisual storytelling are the most important for him. He likes to surprise and combine the non-obvious. When telling a story, he is always close to a person, and the visual language he uses stems from the subject matter he has taken up.

His graduation short film "Time To Go" (2017) premiered at the 70th Cannes International Film Festival, where it was nominated to compete for the Palme d'Or.

The feature film "Matecznik" (2022) was very well received by critics. The Polish premiere took place during the New Horizons Festival (2022) in the Discovery section. Foreign audiences had the opportunity to see the film at the prestigious Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (2022), in the debut film competition. His second feature film "Zadra" (2022) was in the Main Competition of the 47th Polish Film Festival in Gdynia. For both films, the director was nominated for the Empik Discovery Awards for 2022.

On a day-to-day basis, Grzegorz develops his screenplays film and tv series projects. In his free time, he is a fan of boxing training, jazz and Polish post-war prose. When traveling, he is fanatical about sampling the cuisines of the world.
