He is the creator of both fiction and documentary short films that have been screened and awarded at more than 50 film festivals across five continents. In addition to his work in cinema, he has directed social campaigns, commercials for brands including Samsung, Tyskie, and Disney, as well as numerous music videos.
His feature-length debut, 100 Days to Matura (100 dni do matury), premiered theatrically to become the biggest opening of the year and currently ranks as the No. 1 film at the Polish box office.
At the 50th Gdynia Polish Film Festival, Piszczan received the Lucjan Bokiniec Award for Best Short Film for Slap!!, which he both wrote and directed. The film was also nominated in the Short Feature Competition at the Young and Film Festival in Koszalin and went on to receive several additional accolades, including Third Prize at the Ireneusz Radziewicz International Independent Film Festival in Kędzierzyn-Koźle, the Student Jury Special Mention at Offeliada in Gniezno, and First Prize in the Polish Fiction Competition at ŻUBROFFKA International Short Film Festival in Białystok.
In awarding Slap!!, the ŻUBROFFKA jury praised the film for its “clear directorial vision, supported by powerful performances,” noting that it drew viewers into a “raw and brutal world” whose impact was so vivid that “we could almost feel the blow ourselves.”
